Growing up Filipino in Orange County, Mel learned early what it felt like to suppress parts of herself to fit in. Unlearning shame led her to create Adeling, a space that is rooted in Filipino American nostalgia, cultural references, and community. What began as a response to the lack of representation evolved into a deeply healing practice connecting Filipinos through shared memories, culture, and pride.
